Integration of new and old connections + labor-saving + reduction of environmental impact
▼Overview Integration of old and new joints + labor-saving + reduction of environmental impact Join Bond Plus extends the placement period even further than the previous Join Bond M5000. While the period from application to new concrete placement for M5000 was 1 to 14 days, Join Bond Plus achieves a doubled placement period of 1 to 28 days. Additionally, it shows improvements in performance aspects such as shear strength and flexural adhesion strength. By using it for additional concrete placements, this fiber-reinforced polymer cement-based adhesive significantly enhances the bonding strength at the joint interface, achieving integration and improved water tightness for new and old concrete joints.

basic information
▼Features 1. Even with high-pressure water treatment (10-30 MPa) on old concrete surfaces, it demonstrates integration properties equivalent to or better than chipping. By eliminating the need for chipping, significant labor savings and reduction of environmental impact are achieved. 2. A period of 1 to 28 days (at 20°C) is secured from the application of joint bond to the placement of new concrete. Compared to epoxy resin methods, it allows for planned and reliable placement of new concrete. 3. Excellent workability for trowel application and spraying, especially in spraying, it has superior adhesion to iron (steel), allowing for construction without hindrance from rebar. Compared to epoxy resin methods, it enables a reduction in application time. 4. It enhances the adhesive strength at the interface between old and new concrete, forming a dense structure after curing. Compared to chipping methods, the water tightness of the joints is improved. 5. Compared to chipping and water jet (ultra-high pressure water treatment), it significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions generated during cement production and on-site work. It contributes to achieving carbon neutrality. CO2 emissions are reduced by over 60% compared to chipping methods and by over 40% compared to water jet methods.

Nihon Jikkou is a core company of a comprehensive engineering group that contributes to society through the production and sale of various related materials, starting with concrete anti-corrosion construction. Japan is now entering an era of high prevalence of social infrastructure such as water supply and sewage systems, with a vast number of concrete facilities being stockpiled. However, as these facilities age and deteriorate, it has become an urgent issue to systematically and effectively implement repair and maintenance measures to sustain them in the future. Nihon Jikkou and its group companies address these challenges by proposing optimal deterioration prevention measures based on environmental factors and facility characteristics, along with excellent construction techniques, thereby meeting all maintenance and management needs for concrete structures.
