Effective measures against salt damage can be implemented through two phases: the external power supply phase (de-salting and re-alkalization) for improving the environment around the rebar, and the electrolytic anode phase that utilizes the differences in ionization tendencies of zinc and iron to long-term suppress rebar corrosion.

[External Power Supply (Dechlorination and Re-Alkalization) Phase] By connecting the anode material inserted into the drilled holes in the concrete structure to the positive side of a DC power supply and the rebar to the negative side, current is passed to move chloride ions towards the anode side, thereby improving the environment around the rebar.

[Electrolytic Anode Phase] After a specified period of electrification, by disconnecting the DC power supply and directly connecting the rebar to the anode material, the difference in ionization tendencies between zinc and iron helps to long-term suppress the corrosion of the rebar.
