In a Japanese-style room, the tokonoma is an essential element, and the floor pillar is a key component of the room.
We handle floor pillars at our company. Floor pillars are one of the fine woods that make up the tokonoma (alcove). In prestigious tokonoma, pillars made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) with square corners and large chamfers are used, while in modern general residences, woods such as ebony, rosewood, ironwood, karri, acacia, polished logs, and rough logs are utilized. Additionally, in a more relaxed tokonoma that is not bound by the formality and rules of sukiya-style architecture, miscellaneous woods and unusual woods such as fragrant wood, camellia, crape myrtle, and bamboo are used. It is advisable to choose square pillars for prestigious tokonoma and logs or unusual woods for free spaces that are not constrained by the rules of sukiya-style. 【Lineup】 ■ Red pine natural bark logs ■ Hinoki knot logs ■ Kiri unusual wood ■ Hinoki rust logs ■ Camellia natural logs, etc. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
