Quickly measure the embedment depth of steel guardrails and road sign posts.
Our company conducts root depth surveys of guardrails and similar structures using NST-2. Using a non-destructive root depth measurement device (NST-2) that employs ultrasound, we can quickly and accurately measure the root depth of steel guardrails and road sign posts. On-site measurements and analyses are carried out by technicians certified by the Japan Society for Elastic Wave Diagnosis, under the direct guidance of these technicians. They are regularly involved in survey operations such as elastic wave exploration, ground-penetrating radar, and electrical exploration, which enhances reliability. 【Main Applications and Fields of Use】 ■ Measurement of root depth for guardrail posts, road sign posts, lighting poles, etc. ■ Damage surveys and length measurements of various pipes, etc. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

basic information
【Measurement Principle】 1. Use the part of the post that is above ground or the post before it is buried to calculate the propagation speed of ultrasonic waves (surface SH waves). 2. Install the sensor at an arbitrary height above the ground surface of the post being investigated and emit surface SH waves. 3. Receive the surface SH waves that are reflected off the bottom surface of the post with the sensor (obtain the round-trip propagation time from emission to reception). 4. Calculate the embedment depth from the propagation time, time, and sensor installation height. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Our company has been engaged primarily in geological structure surveys and ground property investigations through elastic wave exploration, electrical exploration, and logging using boreholes, with the motto of "safe, swift, and careful observation and measurement" and "high-precision and rapid analysis using advanced systems." Additionally, we conduct investigations such as buried pipe surveys using ground-penetrating radar, depth surveys for guardrail posts, dynamic seismic performance assessments of wooden houses using the Waseda method, simultaneous measurement of microtremors inside boreholes and at the surface, as well as investigations to understand the amplification characteristics of earthquakes (transfer functions) through standalone measurements at the surface. Please feel free to contact us if you have any requests.
