Black pearl-like shimmering ceramic coating anilox technology.
CAE Black Pearl Ceramic Coating Anilox eCell-HD Ultra High-Definition Laser Engraving Technology
Ultra-high printing quality, high resolution, and eCell-HD ultra-high-definition laser engraving technology that matches the needs of the latest TopDot plate technology.
Developed based on a honeycomb 60° cell pattern suitable for higher quality flexo printing. This cell has been stretched and designed using CAE's patented special powder for the black pearl ceramic coating technology, which has been put into practical use. This high-tech solution reduces high-quality printing and ink deposition, functioning similarly to Teflon coating. In other words, it increases transfer efficiency, allowing for more effective ink transfer and the ability to transfer the appropriate amount of ink for color matching. The eCellHD ultra-high-definition laser engraving technology offers the following benefits: 1. Improved ink transfer efficiency 2. Balance between high line counts and solid printing 3. Reduced dot gain 4. Stable ink transfer from cells 5. Stable density and contrast achievable even at high line counts 6. Clean and sharp reproduction of highlights and midtones 7. Reduced ink splatter 8. Compatibility with CTP, NX Kodak plates, flat top dots, etc. 9. Tracking service that guarantees the process from shipment to the user’s hands in perfect condition.

basic information
Adoption of New Technology that Overturns Common Sense about Ceramic Anilox The Black Pearl Ceramic Coating Anilox developed by CAE is a patented technology that fundamentally overturns the conventional wisdom regarding ceramic anilox, specifically the eCell-HD ultra-high-definition laser engraving technology. This coating process promises to create perfect cell engravings that are not influenced by the skill level of ceramic operators, achieved through an automated robotic system that integrates standard plasma coating heads uniquely designed by CAE with ceramic thermal spraying and the BPCC process. Typically, the surface hardness of ceramic coatings on anilox rolls is considered unsuitable if the Vickers hardness falls below 1100, as it is deemed too soft. Conversely, if the hardness exceeds 1300, it is believed that the physical properties of the ceramic change, making it somewhat brittle. The desired porosity percentage for the surface of anilox roll sleeves is considered to be between 0.5% and 1.0%, depending on the application. This anilox is manufactured in the ideal range of surface hardness between 1200 and 1350, with a porosity of 0.5% to 1.0%.
