[Case Study] Improvement of Heating and Power Supply Issues at Busbar Connection Points

The factory's operating rate has also increased! The temperature at the busbar connection point has been reduced from the initial 272°C to 82°C.

At a steel mill in Hyogo Prefecture, there had been ongoing issues with heat generation and poor contact at the connection points between busbars. In particular, the heat generation at the busbar connection points could exceed 200°C due to current flow, posing a risk of disasters such as fires, necessitating improvements. To address this, we introduced a "busbar connection element" that employs the same technology as Salton's high-current connectors, which can reduce heat generation and contact resistance. As a result, regular maintenance work on the contact points between busbars, which was previously conducted to prevent poor electrical contact, is no longer necessary.
