[SDGs Case Study] Improvement of heating and poor conductivity at busbar connection points
Introducing the "busbar connection element" that can reduce heat generation and contact resistance! A case where energy savings have been achieved.
At a steel mill in Hyogo Prefecture, issues with heat generation and contact failure at the connections between busbars had become a problem on-site. In particular, the heat generation was concerning, as the busbar connection points could exceed 200°C due to current flow, posing a risk of disasters such as fires, necessitating improvements. To address this, a "seal contact" element for busbar connections was introduced, which can reduce heat generation and contact resistance. Within 1 to 2 weeks of starting the trial, despite the surrounding temperature on-site being around 60°C, the temperature at the busbar connection points was reduced from the initial 272°C to 82°C. 【After Implementation】 ■ Within 1 to 2 weeks of starting the trial, the temperature at the busbar connection points was reduced from the initial 272°C to 82°C. ■ Power consumption was reduced, leading to energy savings. ■ Contact failures at the busbar connection points during operation were also improved. ■ Maintenance work on the contact points between busbars, which was previously conducted regularly to prevent electrical failures, is no longer necessary. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
