The benefits of removing metal foreign objects with magnets are the low running costs and minimal physical interference with equipment. Magnetic bars do not require wiring and can be easily introduced using existing equipment. ~Example of using a corner lattice-type magnetic bar for hoppers~ ● Removal of contaminants such as grinding powder and parts from food machinery ● Removal of contaminants in raw materials like rice, soybeans, and tea leaves ● Sorting of iron materials in crushed products ● Separation of iron (ore) from the soil According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Social Welfare and Public Health, there were 4,440 food complaints in the fiscal year 2020. The Food Analysis and Development Center also announced that, in the same year, about 21.8% of the items recognized as "foreign objects" in inspections requested by businesses were metal foreign objects. Since June 2021, the introduction and operation of "HACCP" have become mandatory, requiring measures against foreign object contamination in restaurants, supermarkets, and school lunches.
