【Case Introduction】 In a certain prefecture, in order to enable municipal employees and pond managers to quickly and safely assess the conditions of agricultural ponds during earthquakes and heavy rains, remote monitoring devices (cameras and water level gauges) are being installed sequentially. Monitoring devices have been installed in 46 of the priority disaster prevention ponds, and operations began in August 2020. Our company is assisting with this project. 【System Overview】 The information from the monitoring cameras (still images) and water level gauges installed at the ponds is aggregated to a cloud server, allowing pond managers and others to check the status at any time from their computers or smartphones. Additionally, if the risk of dam failure increases due to rising water levels from heavy rains, notifications can be sent via email to registered managers and others in the system.
