Improving painting quality through automatic polishing of automotive resin parts for deburring and surface preparation.
FerRobotics ACF, AOK, AAK, ASK, ACF-K, ABG
Robot polishing of resin parts such as automotive bumpers and spoilers, including burr removal, release agent removal, and painting preparation, using force control with high-speed automatic correction of pressing force.
FerRobotics' Active Compliant Technology automatically corrects the "difference" in contact pressure (force) that occurs during processing in polishing and grinding operations, which require skilled techniques, in response to dimensional tolerances, curved shapes, and non-planar surfaces of the workpiece, at high speed. It also automatically compensates for gravitational loads, allowing for consistent polishing/grinding with a set contact force. This technology can increase the speed at which devices and robots move along their trajectories, thereby enhancing processing speed and improving cycle times. Additionally, in robotic polishing and grinding, the ability to control the contact pressure through the expansion and contraction of the ACF itself means that there is no need to move the heavy robot arm for correction, which further assists in improving the processing speed of robotic polishing. Furthermore, since it automatically compensates for tool loads affected by gravity, which changes with the angle of the robot, it maintains a consistent contact pressure from any angle, enabling a finish without processing inconsistencies. Seeing is believing! Please check our website or YouTube (FerRobotics) for application example videos.

We provide the best solutions for robotic polishing and grinding that equip industrial robots with a sense of touch using our patented Active Compliant Technology (ACT), enabling greater flexibility, reliability, and profitability in manufacturing environments than ever before. The ACT, optimized for robots, automatically measures the required pressing force, instantly compensates for complex surface shapes, and allows for consistent processing with a constant pressing force. It can also respond to sudden opposing forces, such as when the target workpiece moves. As a standard tool and as a custom package product that meets special requirements, ACT clearly contributes to efficiency improvements in production processes that have previously been impossible to automate. By confirming the performance of our ACT solutions, you will immediately feel the results. It brings overwhelming effectiveness to automated polishing and grinding (polishing, sanding, grinding, deburring, buffing, mirror finishing, etc.).
