Diaphragm seals are used for the purpose of protecting pressure gauges in applications where it is difficult to measure the medium, allowing the diaphragm to come into contact with the medium instead of the measuring instrument, thereby demonstrating its effectiveness. Pressure measurement is transmitted through the system filling liquid within the diaphragm seal system. Various designs, materials, and system filling liquids are available to meet the demands of customers with stringent application requirements. Asterile connection compliant with DIN 11864 meets very high hygiene standards. The connection is maintenance-free and generally does not require regular inspections. The diaphragm seal system can withstand the cleaning steam temperatures generated during SIP processes, ensuring a sterile connection between the measuring medium and the diaphragm seal. The installation of the diaphragm seal to the measuring instrument can be done not only by direct mounting but also, in high-temperature cases, by using a siphon or through flexible capillaries. Regarding materials, WIKA offers various solutions, and the material of the diaphragm seal can be made of the same material as the instrument or different materials, with the wetted parts optionally being electropolished.
