Under normal conditions, it allows rainwater drainage to flow into the waterway, and during flooding, the flap gate closes to prevent backflow. Recently, there has been an increase in its use for drainage pipes installed on the parapet walls of rivers. It is also used to prevent odors and the entry of pests from drainage pipes. It is fixed by being covered over the outside of PVC pipes.
