[Case Study of Food Factory] Adoption of a Plate Filter Press for Activated Sludge Treatment
The amount of coagulant used has been significantly reduced! The decrease in moisture content has also led to a reduction in the disposal costs of dewatered cakes.
A certain food factory was considering replacing its aging dewatering machine. There were issues such as high running costs due to the use of two types of polymer coagulants (cationic and anionic), a high moisture content in the dewatered cake leading to increased disposal costs, and a preference for the amount of wash water used to remain roughly the same as the current level. Based on customer interviews and dewatering tests, we proposed the CS type (single cloth filter). After implementation, the amount of coagulant used was significantly reduced, and the decrease in moisture content also led to a reduction in disposal costs for the dewatered cake. [Challenges] ■ High running costs due to the use of two types of polymer coagulants (cationic and anionic) ■ High moisture content in the dewatered cake leading to increased disposal costs ■ Preference for the amount of wash water used to remain roughly the same as the current level *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

basic information
【Problem Resolution】 ■ The single-layer cloth type allows for dewatering with inorganic coagulant solution, significantly reducing the cost of coagulants. ■ The single-layer cloth type has a lower moisture content compared to the multi-disc type. ■ The CS type can reuse the detachment liquid as wash water, resulting in a wash water volume that is not significantly different from the multi-disc type. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
