All buildings, including apartments, hospitals, hotels, and schools, have plumbing for baths, sinks, kitchens, and laundry. The piping material is generally a vinyl-lined steel pipe (abbreviated as VLP), which has a layer of PVC on the inside to prevent the iron from coming into direct contact with water, thereby preventing the occurrence of red rust.
