50cm flood mitigation 'FZ50 Water Stop Board'

We are pleased to announce that the FZ50 of the simple type water stop board Flood Guard has been selected for the "2023 Good Design Award" organized by the Japan Design Promotion Association. The "Good Design Award" is Japan's only comprehensive design evaluation and recommendation initiative, inheriting the "Good Design Product Selection System" (commonly known as the G Mark System) established by the former Ministry of International Trade and Industry in 1957. Its purpose is not merely to compete for the beauty of objects but to discover and widely communicate designs that enhance industrial development and the quality of life across various fields around us. The FZ50 was awarded not only for its functionality but also for its design appeal among numerous submitted products. Evaluation comments from the judges: The damage caused by floods is becoming increasingly serious day by day. In low-lying urban areas, rainwater rushes in all at once, entering underground spaces and interiors, causing significant damage. Traditionally, attempts were made to prevent flooding using sandbags, but they did not yield significant results. This design is structurally durable and stable, and its ease of connection allows for efficient blocking of rainwater. It is a timely design that is much needed.

Due to heavy rain that continued from July 16 in Henan Province, China, many areas, including the provincial capital Zhengzhou, suffered flooding damage, affecting 1.2 million people. In Henan Province, our F50 was used, and we obtained surveillance camera footage from July 22. Since it is surveillance camera footage, the images are not clear, but the roadside is flooded while the building side has not suffered water damage.

We will exhibit at the 3rd Xiamen Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, and Emergency Rescue Technology Equipment Exhibition held by our Chinese joint venture in Xiamen, Fujian Province. We will showcase the new Flood Guard F water stop boards: FZ50, FT50, FG50, and FS50.
