basic information
The redwood, known as Sequoiadendron giganteum, which grows wild in California, is a rare material that, despite being a conifer, possesses the strongest corrosion resistance of any wood. In the wild forests, it can exceed heights of 100 meters, and due to its unique ecology, it is a species that has survived various competitive challenges. However, its population has drastically decreased due to rampant logging during the Gold Rush era. Currently, a small, stable, and long-term industrial use has been achieved from carefully managed planted specimens. Redwood has been cherished by various architects, including Charles Moore, and has woven a rich history. In the region, buildings made from redwood increase in asset value, leading to businesses that paint red cedar and other woods with "redwood color" paint to improve their resale assessments. The CH series for decking generally uses heartwood and is available in standard dimensions such as 2x6 and 4x4 at affordable prices. We invite you to try our decking material, which combines the workability and thermal properties of conifers with the strongest corrosion resistance of any wood.
