Recycling resources from wastewater treatment plants for crop cultivation: 'Renaissance System'
Establishing energy-saving and high-efficiency cultivation by utilizing CO2 from processing plants and wastewater heat to provide optimal environmental conditions for plant production in houses (greenhouses and cold rooms).
This system is an initiative to recycle the resources and energy generated at wastewater treatment plants for the cultivation of plants in greenhouses installed around the treatment facility. By utilizing carbon dioxide recovered from digester gas and wastewater heat, the system controls the temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide concentration inside the greenhouse, providing optimal environmental conditions for plant production. This establishes low-cost and high-efficiency agricultural production, contributing to the realization of a circular society. This is a collaborative research technology developed by Nagaoka University of Technology, Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd., Ohara Iron Works Co., Ltd., Takasago Thermal Engineering Co., Ltd., and Toa Grout Industry Co., Ltd. **Features** - By providing carbon dioxide and temperature, the productivity of food increases by 33%. - It allows for the effective use of land that has become idle around the wastewater treatment plant. - It can enhance the image of municipalities through environmental burden reduction activities. - Systematic plant factory production that is not affected by weather conditions becomes possible. **Applications** - Effective utilization of resources and energy generated at wastewater treatment plants. - Employment measures utilizing green spaces and agricultural land around wastewater treatment plants. - Expansion into agricultural businesses in collaboration with local communities. - Utilizing the characteristics of energy-independent treatment plants as a regional disaster prevention base.

Since its establishment, our company has played a role in national construction, primarily focusing on the "ground improvement field" with our unique grouting method.
