It provides the robot with a sense of touch, allowing for corrections of workpiece tolerances, warping, and even high-speed autonomous corrections against gravitational loads, enabling consistent contact pressure processing from any angle. For example, R-shaped forms like motorcycle tanks or pipes can be automatically polished and ground without the need for intricate programming, significantly reducing cycle times.

FerRobotics' Active Compliant Technology automatically corrects the "difference" in contact pressure (force) that occurs during polishing and grinding processes, which require skilled techniques, at high speed. This technology allows for consistent polishing/grinding at the set contact force, unaffected by variations in processing speed or gravitational load differences due to angles. With the end effector (ACF) utilizing ACT technology, it instantly adjusts to changes in the dimensional tolerances, curved shapes, and non-flat surfaces of the workpiece by rapidly and automatically correcting the stroke's extension and contraction, maintaining contact with the workpiece at the set force. This technology can increase the speed at which machines and robots move along their paths, thereby enhancing processing speed and improving cycle times. Additionally, in robotic polishing and grinding, the ACF controls the contact pressure through the extension and contraction of its stroke, eliminating the need to move the heavy robotic arm itself for corrections, which further assists in improving the processing speed of robotic polishing. Furthermore, since it automatically corrects the tool load affected by gravity changes due to the robot's angle, it maintains a uniform contact pressure from any angle, enabling a finish without processing inconsistencies.
