This is a dry construction method that allows for the installation of guardrails while ensuring a building limit of 250 mm, without breaking and re-pouring the 300 mm wide concrete footing of the bridge.

The steel widening ground cover allows for installation with a setback of 250 mm from the front of the ground cover to the front of the main crossbeam by anchoring the ground cover and railing support columns through a high-strength, uniquely structured cast iron widening base. Between the columns, a steel reinforcement substrate rail is covered with a corrosion-resistant steel plate ground cover, allowing for vehicle guidance even when vehicles drive over it. This enables construction at night with minimal vehicle traffic restrictions and is suitable for small bridges in narrow areas where a setback is necessary, allowing for construction without concrete. **Features** - **Compliance with construction limits:** 250 mm setback for railings with a 300 mm narrow ground cover. - **Short construction period:** Construction from within the bridge and no curing time required, allowing for a shortened construction period. - **Lightweight:** Approximately 90 kg/m lighter compared to concrete widening. - **Low load:** Structure designed to minimize impact load on the ground cover during vehicle collisions. - **Aesthetic appeal:** Provides an open and comfortable driving space. *Note 1: Installation may not be possible if the concrete strength does not meet the design strength. 【Adaptation Type/Product】 The protective fence body can accommodate various types of View Rail Max from Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. ● Only types B/C are available. ● It cannot accommodate View Rail or other protective fences. ● It is not compatible with barrier products. 【Ground Cover Conditions - 1】 The standard anchor embedment depth is 250 mm. ● Post-installed anchors will be used. ● The ground cover rebar size is D13, and the concrete cover thickness for the back rebar is assumed to be 50 mm. 【Ground Cover Conditions - 2】 It is applicable to bridges with a ground cover width of 300 to 400 mm. ● Even for bridges with a ground cover width of 300 mm, it is possible to accommodate the construction limit of a 250 mm setback. ● If the ground cover width is 400 mm or more, installation that ensures the construction limit can be achieved using the standard View Rail Max. ● The applicable ground cover height is from 75 mm to 200 mm. 【Special Part Compatibility】 Due to the structure of the ground cover, it cannot accommodate flat radii. ● If raising is necessary, consideration for a wet method will be required. ● Regarding butt joints, the situations that can be accommodated are limited due to the structure of the ground cover and the reinforcing base rail. ● In the case of a constant slope, the standard product can be applied as is. ● For expansion joints, there may be restrictions on the placement of the posts.
