Recently, through extensive research at Sakura Structural Engineering, we obtained the first approved certificate for WRC 8-story buildings in Japan. The "High Wall Construction Method" is a next-generation wall-type reinforced concrete construction that combines high seismic resistance with low cost.

Sakura Structure has developed the "High Wall Method," which enables the construction of wall-type reinforced concrete buildings up to 8 stories (wall-type 8 stories). Due to legal revisions and the establishment of design guidelines, the design of wall-type reinforced concrete buildings up to 8 stories has become possible through general reviews of "confirmation applications" and "compliance assessments." However, the complexity of the analysis has hindered widespread adoption. Nevertheless, Sakura Structure has conducted extensive research and has obtained the first confirmation certificate in Japan for an 8-story wall-type reinforced concrete building. The characteristic of the "High Wall Method" lies in its high seismic resistance, which, when compared to the same plan of RC frame construction, shows that it has approximately 1.7 times the calculated bearing capacity. Additionally, while maintaining high seismic resistance, it excels in cost performance, achieving a 16.7% reduction in construction costs compared to 8-story RC buildings.
