We will introduce a case study on ice pillar countermeasures using a "fabric heater." We have developed snow melting products in collaboration with NEXCO Central Japan, and this evaluation focuses on countermeasures against icicles inside tunnels. It has been confirmed that icicles on the meltwater drainage pipes are prevented from forming overall by the warm rising air from the fabric heater installed at the bottom. This is a unique application of the thin and lightweight fabric heater.
