Crack evaluation of mortar in existing concrete structures using ultrasonic methods.
"Crack Evaluation of Mortar" refers to the assessment of cracks that occur in the mortar finish applied to the surface of existing concrete structures, determining whether the cracks are contained within the mortar finish or have reached the underlying concrete using ultrasonic methods. This technique focuses on scattered waves, comparing the degree of reduction of scattered waves within the concrete between the healthy areas surrounding the cracks and the cracked areas to evaluate the depth of the cracks. The applicable range for mortar thickness is from 10mm to 40m, and it targets cracks that are 0.1m or wider; however, it can also be applied to surfaces with minimal irregularities, such as painted surfaces or tiled finishes. basic information
【Measurement Procedure】 <Using Crack Checker and Probe> 1. Confirm that there are no delaminations in the surrounding mortar by tapping with a hammer or similar tool if the crack width is 0.1mm or more. 2. Apply contact medium to the probe and press it against the nearby sound area. 3. Perform calibration according to the screen instructions: approximately 10 seconds. 4. Apply contact medium to the probe and press it against the crack. 5. Follow the screen instructions for key operations, with a judgment in about 2-3 seconds. 6. If the crack is stopped within the mortar, it will indicate OK; if the crack has reached the interior of the structure, it will indicate NG. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
