This is a testing machine that analyzes and mechanizes the hand movement of "stroking" used to assess the texture of fabric, making it possible to convert it into objective numerical data.
Data on the coefficient of friction, variations in the coefficient of friction, and surface roughness for various fibers, fabrics, paper, non-woven fabrics, and film samples can be obtained. It is said that surface friction and roughness characteristic data influence the texture's "plumpness," "slipperiness," and "crispness."
