The "Big Ski (CAN)" is a pavement thickness automatic control system manufactured by MOBA GmbH, utilizing multiple sonic skis. Out of five ultrasonic sensors used for subgrade detection, two significantly different data points are excluded, and the remaining three data points are averaged. This averaging is further refined using three sonic skis equipped with this functionality. It features a non-contact long beam that does not damage the subgrade or pavement surface.
