The drilling machine (Compact Reverse JET18・C-JET18) used for the super low headroom cast-in-place pile method (Supercompact Reverse Circulation Drilling Machine) is the smallest among this type of drilling machines. In foundation pile construction on train station platforms, the work space is limited to nighttime, leading to time constraints that prolong the construction period and increase costs. Additionally, when construction machinery is left on the platform, temporary enclosures for the machinery are required outside of working hours, which obstructs passenger traffic. To address these issues, we developed a super compact reverse circulation drilling machine that can perform foundation pile construction in low headroom and narrow spaces, such as beneath platforms, by miniaturizing the pile construction machinery. <Structure of the Drilling Machine> By using a special Kelly rod and employing a turntable system to drive the rod at the machine's base, we have achieved ultra-compactness. <Drilling Capability> The maximum pile diameter is 3.0m. Although it is an ultra-compact drilling machine, the drilling speed is comparable to conventional models like the TBH-8. <Applicable Range> It can be operated in a space with a height of 2m and a width of 4m, and it can also be used for construction under homes. It enables construction in narrow spaces that were previously unfeasible, such as additional piles for seismic reinforcement under road bridges.
