High Energy Absorption Rockfall Protection Net "Robust Protection Net"
A pocket-type rockfall protection net designed to pursue "clear safety" through certification and verification by a public third-party organization, featuring high energy absorption.
■Overview The robust protective net is a high-energy absorption pocket-type rockfall protection net designed to efficiently absorb the energy of falling rocks that occur at the top of slopes and safely guide them to the bottom of the slope. It is made from a combination of high-strength wire mesh, wire ropes, and cushioning devices. It has been developed based on the performance verification methods described in the Rockfall Countermeasure Handbook (December 2017) and has been proven to meet the three performance requirements (safety, usability, and reparability). ■Features 1. The cushioning device is delivered after factory assembly, reducing the installation process and time during construction. 2. Full-scale performance verification experiments have demonstrated that after partial repairs are made to a specimen that has been loaded once, reloading shows that performance is restored to 100%. 3. Performance evaluation sheets and experimental reports have been organized and can be provided upon request. ■Lineup and Types There are two structures: the 'Net Type' (7 types), which eliminates vertical ropes and combines high-strength wire mesh with horizontal ropes and cushioning devices, and the 'Rope Type' (1 type), which combines wire mesh and high-strength ropes in a vertical and horizontal lattice structure. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.*

basic information
■ Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism NETIS Registration Number: HR-230013-A ■ (Public Interest Incorporated Foundation) Civil Engineering Research Center: Construction Technology Review Certificate No. 2401 (There are various conditions for the applicable range) ■ Applicable Range ◇ Possible rockfall energy: 200kJ, 400kJ, 700kJ, 1,000kJ, 1,400kJ, 2,500kJ, 2,700kJ, 5,000kJ - The anchors installed on the concrete reaction bodies at both ends of the experimental device are firmly fixed to strong H-shaped steel, and there is no energy absorption due to deformation or displacement of the anchors and surrounding areas, making it a rigorous testing condition for the components (ropes, cushioning devices, etc.). - The indicated possible rockfall energies are values confirmed using an experimental device with concrete reaction bodies installed at both ends. - When applying this method at an actual site, the supports and anchors will be installed directly into the ground. - The design load of the anchors installed at the actual site will be determined based on the loads measured during the experiments. - The anchor length will be determined based on the results of pull-out tests and ground data, and the specified load-bearing capacity will be confirmed through verification tests after installation. Price information
The construction cost per unit will vary depending on the scale of the project and various conditions (such as the type and length of rock anchors, special coatings, and landscape coloring, etc.).

Applications/Examples of results
■Purpose: Rockfall Protection Facilities - Areas where there are sources of rockfall at the top of a long slope, with steep terrain extending down to the roadside. - Locations where the expected rockfall energy ranges from 150 kJ to 5,000 kJ. - Areas with topographical variations where a wider spacing of pocket-type supports is desired (10m to 19m). ■Track Record - Mainly consists of achievements in public works. https://www.rcnet.co.jp/example/list.php?cd=22 *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
