The Italian Optosensing's fiber optic intrusion and theft detection sensor unit (FOSS) is a unique product that achieves lower costs and ease of installation and operation compared to existing general-purpose multifunction fiber sensing devices by focusing on specific applications and functions. In addition to using the basic measurement unit alone, data collection and transmission units, as well as vibration detection units for system function expansion, are available. It also meets the IP66 dust and waterproof standards, making it particularly effective as a detection sensor for intrusions and thefts outside of management hours in various facilities, warehouses, and material storage areas, as well as an early warning sensor for ensuring safety in areas prone to wildlife damage.

basic information
The basic measurement unit is connected to a POF (plastic optical fiber) with an outer diameter of 2mm and used as a sensor, which detects strain caused by external stress such as breakage, tension, and vibration with high sensitivity and issues alarms. The same unit can connect two lines of sensor fiber in a loop format, with a detection distance of up to 200m for each line. (In standalone operation of the basic unit, external control signals are limited to relay contact signals, but it is also possible to connect a digital interface in combination with an expansion function unit.)
