The BSX self-regulating heater cable for freeze prevention or process temperature maintenance is designed to prevent freezing and maintain process temperatures in metal and non-metal piping, tanks, and equipment. The thermal output of the BSX cable varies according to the surrounding conditions of the entire circuit. As heat loss increases (i.e., as the outside temperature decreases), such as in insulated piping, the thermal output of the cable increases. Conversely, when heat loss decreases (i.e., as the outside temperature rises or when power flows through the product generating heat), the cable responds and the thermal output decreases.
