It is strong but relatively easy to work with and does not warp easily. It can produce large-diameter and long-length materials. It contains a lot of resin, so caution is needed when painting. Its decay resistance is moderate. Uses: Utilized for structural materials such as columns and beams, custom materials, fittings, furniture materials, plywood, utility poles, and shipbuilding. In the United States, Bay Pine plywood is famous. Caution: Although it is called Bay Pine in Japan, it is not in the same genus as true pines and is classified under the genus Chamaecyparis. It is imported in large quantities from North America, and the stock is abundant.
