It is convenient for using Wi-Fi access points, hubs, and network cameras that support PoE power supply in remote locations. The single-port fiber optic transmission distance varies by product model; for two-core multimode fiber, the maximum distance is 2 km, and for two-core single-mode fiber, it is up to 20 km. Most devices operating on PoE power supply are intended for outdoor use, and within waterproof housing boxes, temperatures can drop to -40℃ in cold regions, or exceed 60℃ in Japan's average summer, even without direct sunlight, due to the heat generated by electrical equipment. In such cases, general products rated for 0-50℃ may not last a year. Therefore, industrial-grade products are required for outdoor PoE switches.

This allows for the connection of wireless access points, PoE-powered hubs, network cameras, and other devices at the extended location, transmitting 10/100 networks. The power supply required is DC48V with a minimum of 1.5A. The recommended power supply is an industrial power supply with a capacity of DC48V 2.5A, compatible with AC88–132V/AC176–264V input. It is robust as it does not have built-in cooling fans, and it has a long mean time between failures (MTBF) of 443,154 hours, making it durable for long-term use.
