Many of the social infrastructures, such as roads, tunnels, bridge piers, railways, water supply and sewage systems, and ports, which were intensively developed after the period of high economic growth, will reach over 50 years since their construction around 2030, raising concerns about the aging of social infrastructure. Additionally, due to the declining birthrate and aging population, Japan is facing a decrease in its population, leading to challenges such as labor shortages and worsening fiscal conditions. As a result, there is a growing need for the establishment of maintenance cycles for future social infrastructure, with increasing demands for "inspection," "diagnosis," "repair," and "renewal."
