○ Arch culverts have an arched shape at the top and a box shape at the bottom, allowing the upper load to be transmitted as axial compressive force. This significantly reduces the bending moments occurring in the upper part and side walls compared to box shapes, enabling them to possess high strength. Therefore, they are particularly effective against large soil cover and demonstrate economic benefits. ○ Arch culverts can ensure high water-tightness by using rubber rings at the joints. ○ Because arch culverts use rubber rings, there is no need to apply mortar joints at the joints, making construction simple and demonstrating economic benefits through shortened construction periods. Additionally, there is no need for concrete wrapping required for circular pipes, resulting in excellent workability and cost-effectiveness. ○ There are three types of arch culverts depending on soil cover conditions: I Type……… Standard thickness with standard reinforcement II Type……… Standard thickness with increased reinforcement Special Thick Type…… Approximately 30% thicker than I Type For inquiries regarding concrete secondary products, please contact Takamizawa Concrete Division.
