A compact spot cooler that generates ultra-low temperature air with a maximum temperature difference of -75°C just by connecting compressed air.
The Kolder is a simplified spot cooler that applies the principle of vortex. Without using power supply or refrigerant gas, it discharges ultra-low temperature air with a maximum temperature difference of -75°C (at a supply pressure of 0.7 MPa, for model 190-75SV) just by connecting compressed air. A typical application of the generated cooling air is the removal of heat generated during the processing of materials such as metals and plastics, and it shows excellent effects particularly in the processing of hard materials and high-viscosity substances (such as titanium alloys, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and thermoplastic plastics). Additionally, the cooling effect on workpieces and tools leads to improved cutting speeds and extended tool life, making it particularly suitable for dry cutting of materials like magnesium alloys. Furthermore, it is effectively used as a cooling source for various spot cooling applications, such as preventing heat-related issues in electrical control boxes and various measuring instrument boxes, cooling molds, and cooling tests for semiconductors and PC boards. *For more details, please refer to the basic information and downloadable materials at the bottom of the page.

Applications/Examples of results
【Usage Examples】 It is used for various "spot cooling" applications, such as localized cooling during machining like cutting in manufacturing sites, and cooling inside boxes like control panels. 【Examples of Use】 - Spot Welding: Cooling the spot weld area with cold air eliminates the need for post-processing and improves product quality. - Metal Tapping: The cooling air from the cold air tool increases the speed of tapping, prevents heat buildup, extends tool life, and improves the accuracy of the threads. - Plastic Cutting: The low-temperature air from the cold air tool prevents an increase in friction heat, allows for high-speed work, and results in a clean cut surface. - Metal Processing - Tapping: With -18°C cold air from the cold air tool, brass tapping can be done without using coolant. The finish is clean, allowing for the next process to be skipped.
Detailed information
-
Kolder Option Parts We have lined up convenient option parts for use with the Kolder ultra-low temperature air generator. This includes extension hoses that are useful for directing the discharged cold air and positioning it on the workpiece, as well as fixtures that make installation easier.
-
The cold air discharge can be easily adjusted with the control knob.
-
Plastic processing The air gun cools the cutting blade with air at minus 12°C, which speeds up the plastic processing and results in a beautiful finish.
-
Metal processing/grinding Using an air gun for cooling the wheel and workpiece will increase grinding speed and also improve the machining accuracy of the product.
-
Grooving of wood The air gun blows minus 12°C air onto the grooving bit, increasing the grooving speed while preventing burning or discoloration of the wood and leaving no sawdust behind.
-
Metalworking - Band Saw - When cutting materials such as bars, cold air is used as a substitute for coolant. This extends the life of the blade and prevents dulling of the cutting edge before its lifespan ends.
-
Fiber / Sewing and Embroidery In large-scale sewing and embroidery operations, using an air gun prevents needle heating, eliminating thread burning and thread supply stoppage.
-
Food processing / product cooling Clean and dry air from an air gun is directed into a plastic enclosure and blown onto the baked food. This requires a lower investment compared to a long cooling conveyor.

Company information
Our company was founded in 1971 and has been introducing unique and excellent products from overseas to our customers in Japan. We handle over 10,000 items, including fittings, couplings, various valves, and check valves. Among these, we take pride in being a pioneer in the market for small plastic piping components manufactured by the American company CPC, including CPC couplings, which we have been proposing since 30 years ago when brass and stainless steel were the norm. These products are widely used in small devices across various fields such as general industry, healthcare, food and beverage, printing, and experimentation, thanks to their features of being "compact," "lightweight," and "offering a wide variety." Additionally, in the field of industrial air equipment, we have been supplying products focused on "cooling," "blowing," and "air transport" using compressed air, including the "Cryogenic Air Generator Kolder," to manufacturing sites in various sectors for many years. In recent years, we have also been focusing on the development of new products in different fields, including springs made of PEEK resin. In April 2018, as a new initiative to improve customer satisfaction in industrial piping components, we opened a satellite showroom in Odaiba displaying approximately 2,500 items.
