New seismic diagnosis general assessment announced by the Japan Architectural Disaster Prevention Association.
New seismic diagnosis general assessment announced by the Japan Architectural Disaster Prevention Association.
General diagnosis is a new diagnostic method announced by the Japan Building Disaster Prevention Association in 2004. This method expands the previously existing diagnostic techniques, which were limited to traditional timber frame construction, to include visually-based inspections of mixed structures such as three-story traditional timber frames, traditional construction methods, and frame wall construction (2x4). 【Features】 - It checks the condition of the ground and foundation where the building is located. - Buildings are supported by walls, and the arrangement of these walls must be balanced according to the building's design, so the balance of the walls (building shape and eccentricity) is confirmed. - Walls support the building during an earthquake, so the quantity of walls is assessed. - Wooden structures may deteriorate due to water exposure or leaks, so the degree of deterioration of the walls is diagnosed. ● For other functions and details, please contact us.

General diagnosis is a new diagnostic method announced by the Japan Architectural Disaster Prevention Association in 2004. This method expands the previously existing diagnostic techniques, which were limited to traditional timber frame construction, to include visually based investigations of mixed structural forms such as three-story traditional timber frames, traditional construction methods, and frame wall construction (2x4). 【Features】 - It confirms the condition of the ground and foundation at the location of the building. - Buildings are supported by walls, and the arrangement of these walls must be balanced according to the building's design, so the balance of the walls (building shape and eccentricity) is checked. - Walls support the building during an earthquake, so the quantity of walls is assessed. - Wooden structures can deteriorate due to water exposure or leaks, so the degree of deterioration of the walls is diagnosed. ● For other functions and details, please contact us.

Company information
It is clear that the number of new housing starts will decrease in the future, considering the current number of residential units nationwide and the birth rate of children. Therefore, reinforcing existing housing will play an important role moving forward. This reinforcement will not only focus on improving seismic performance but also on restoring the inherent durability of the buildings. The seismic research method (ML method) has been developed with consideration for the future trends of Japanese society, focusing not only on seismic performance but also on durability, through repeated research and experimentation. Additionally, we refer to renovations that emphasize the reinforcement of structural components, including measures against the deterioration of wooden buildings and improvements in seismic performance, as "structural renovations." A time will come when the importance of structural repairs and renovations will be highlighted. We aim to promote these "structural renovations" and the "ML method" to the general public and to foster technicians skilled in the repair of wooden buildings.
