Simulation of a spiral pump using Simerics MP+.

Introducing a simulation of a vortex pump (centrifugal pump), which is an example of fluid analysis.

CFD provides a way to shorten product development periods and reduce prototyping costs, as well as obtain detailed data that is difficult to measure through experiments. In this article, we will introduce application examples that can be useful for product development using Simerics' CAE/CFD software. Centrifugal pumps, which utilize centrifugal force to draw up liquids, are widely used for water supply in urban and agricultural irrigation, as well as for general industrial applications. An important challenge in the design process is that, due to the principle of pushing liquid with centrifugal force, cavitation tends to occur easily. Research and development are continuously conducted to suppress this and enhance pump efficiency and durability. However, this requires spending a lot of cost and time on prototyping and experimenting with centrifugal pumps. With Simerics' CFD, multiple cavitation models can be used, and erosion prediction is also possible, allowing for accurate and physically meaningful simulations! This is expected to significantly reduce man-hours and costs! There are still many reasons to use Simerics' CFD software. You can find more information through the link below or feel free to contact us anytime!

Simerics MP+: A fluid analysis software strong in automotive oil lubrication.

Fluid analysis software for positive displacement pumps such as gear pumps and vane pumps! CFD software specialized for pumps that other CFD software struggles with!

Simerics MP+ is a fluid analysis software designed to calculate the transient characteristics of various volumetric pumps, compressors, and valves. It is developed based on the thermal fluid analysis software Simerics MP, and utilizes all the features of Simerics MP. 【The following fluid analyses are possible】 ■ Free surface flow ■ Flow considering the compressibility of air contained in liquids ■ Pressure pulsations and water hammer effects ■ Coupling of pump flow with the rigid body motion of valves and cam rings ■ Flow in low to medium vacuum conditions ■ Compressible flow (subsonic) ■ Cavitation ■ Time variations of flow fields (velocity vectors, pressure), flow rate, fluid forces, and torque The biggest strength is the ability to automatically create meshes even for clearances in the µm range, which is difficult with other general-purpose fluid analysis software!! Recently, there has been an increase in achievements for oil pumps used in automobiles and construction machinery, with examples such as vane pumps for power steering and CVTs, and trochoidal pumps for engine lubrication. *There is a lot of information that cannot be posted online. In particular, please see a demo for the actual mesh creation and movement!

Simulation of a heat exchanger using SimericsMP.

Introduction to the simulation of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger, an example of thermal fluid analysis.

CFD provides a way to shorten product development periods, reduce prototyping costs, and obtain detailed data that is difficult to measure through experiments. In this article, we will introduce application examples that can be useful for product development using Simerics' CAE/CFD software. Heat exchangers have various applications, including boilers, steam generators, and commonly in air conditioners, refrigerators, and automobile radiators. While it is essential to enhance heat transfer efficiency, there is also a demand for miniaturization, which requires various trials and errors in design. However, designing often requires significant costs and time spent on prototyping and experiments. In CFD simulations, computation time can become lengthy depending on the shape of the shell and the number of tubes, but with Simerics' CFD, high-performance thermal fluid analysis can be processed quickly through large-scale parallel computing, allowing for easy and rapid results. The interior of the shell is also modeled in detail, replicating conditions close to actual experiments. This can lead to significant reductions in labor and costs! There are still many reasons to use Simerics' CFD software. Please check the link below or feel free to contact us!

[Analysis Case] Transient Flow Analysis of Vane Pumps

By utilizing the PumpLinx simulator for pump transient flow characteristics, flow analysis within the vane pump can be conducted smoothly.

PumpLinx has mesh templates for various types of pumps. By using templates tailored to the specific pump type being analyzed, the time and effort typically spent on mesh generation for fluid analysis of standard pumps can be significantly reduced and streamlined. For example, even for complex mechanisms like vane pumps, optimal meshes for analysis can be quickly and automatically generated by setting parameters such as the number of vanes based on 3D CAD data. Additionally, the integrated GUI allows for smooth handling of operations such as mesh generation, setting analysis conditions, executing calculations, and displaying results all on one screen, making the analysis easier and faster. Furthermore, many positive displacement pumps, including internal gear pumps, may experience cavitation during their operating cycle. PumpLinx supports cavitation analysis through the adoption of high-precision cavitation models and cavitation damage models.

Simulation of an internal gear pump using Simerics MP+.

Introducing a simulation of an internal gear pump, which is an example of fluid analysis.

CFD provides a way to shorten product development periods, reduce prototype costs, and obtain detailed data that is difficult to measure through experiments. In this article, we will introduce application examples that can be useful for product development using Simerics' CAE/CFD software. One common component used in hydraulic machinery, such as automotive oil pumps, is the internal gear. Research and development is ongoing daily to improve the efficiency of transporting hydraulic fluid. However, this requires spending a lot of cost and time on prototyping and testing the oil pump. Additionally, even when performing CFD simulations, generating the computational mesh between the teeth is a labor-intensive task. With Simerics' CFD, high-performance template meshes are provided, and the deformation of the computational mesh that occurs during computation is fully automated, allowing anyone to easily and quickly generate meshes. This is expected to significantly reduce man-hours and costs! There are still many reasons to use Simerics' CFD software. [Analysis Case] Transient Flow Analysis of Axial Piston Pump

By utilizing the PumpLinx simulator for pump transient flow characteristics, smooth flow analysis within axial piston pumps can be conducted.

PumpLinx has mesh templates for various types of pumps. By using templates corresponding to the pump type being analyzed, the time and effort spent on mesh generation, which typically takes a lot of resources for fluid analysis of standard pumps, can be significantly reduced and streamlined. For example, even for complex mechanisms like axial piston pumps, optimal meshes for analysis can be automatically and quickly generated based on 3D CAD data by setting parameters such as the number of cylinders. Additionally, the integrated GUI allows for smooth handling of operations such as mesh generation, setting analysis conditions, executing calculations, and displaying results all on one screen, making the analysis easier and faster. Moreover, in many volumetric pumps, including axial piston pumps, there is a possibility of cavitation occurring during the operating cycle. PumpLinx supports cavitation analysis through the adoption of high-precision cavitation models and cavitation damage models.

Airflow simulation of the engine room using SimericsMP.

Introduction to airflow simulation in the engine room as a case study of flow analysis.

CFD allows for the shortening of product development periods, reduction of prototyping costs, and acquisition of detailed data that is difficult to measure through experiments. In this article, we will introduce application examples that can be useful for product development using Simerics' CAE/CFD software. To prevent a car from overheating, it is necessary to intake air into the engine room and cool various components, making the design of the grille shape and ventilation parts crucial. Additionally, the grille is not only important for cooling effectiveness but also serves as the car's "face," affecting its appearance. Despite being such an important aspect, designing it requires significant time and costs for prototyping and experiments. CFD simulations can also become large-scale, often leading to longer computation times. However, with Simerics' CFD, high-performance flow analysis can be processed quickly through large-scale parallel computing, allowing for easy and rapid results. It also models the complex engine room in detail, recreating conditions close to actual experiments. This is expected to significantly reduce man-hours and costs! There are many more reasons to use Simerics' CFD software. Please check the link below or feel free to contact us!

Flooded road driving simulation using SimericsMP

Introduction to the simulation of floodway driving as a case study of free surface analysis.

In this article, we will introduce application examples that can be useful for product development using Simerics' CAE/CFD software. In particular, in Japan, there are many instances of flooding, and there are situations where we must drive on submerged roads. Creating vehicles that can withstand driving in flooded conditions has become one of the important challenges in automotive development, but this requires spending a lot of cost and time on prototype production and testing. CFD simulations can also become large-scale, leading to longer computation times, but with Simerics' CFD, high-performance free surface fluid analysis can be processed quickly through large-scale parallel computing, allowing for easy and rapid results. The complex engine compartment is modeled in detail, reproducing conditions close to actual experiments. Of course, changes in water depth and driving speed are also easily possible. From these calculation results, we can understand the pathways and amounts of water intrusion, providing feedback for shape design and preventing damage and electric shock. Simulation of a spiral pump using Simerics MP+.

Introducing a simulation of a vortex pump (centrifugal pump), which is an example of fluid analysis.

CFD allows for the shortening of product development periods, reduction of prototype costs, and acquisition of detailed data that is difficult to measure through experiments. In this article, we will introduce application examples that can be useful for product development using Simerics' CAE/CFD software. Centrifugal pumps, which utilize centrifugal force to draw up liquids, are widely used for water supply and irrigation, as well as for general industrial applications. An important challenge in design is that, due to the principle of pushing liquid with centrifugal force, cavitation tends to occur easily. Research and development are ongoing daily to suppress this and enhance pump efficiency and durability. There are many more reasons to use Simerics' CFD software. Simulation of an internal gear pump using Simerics MP+.

Introducing a simulation of an internal gear pump, which is an example of fluid analysis.

CFD allows for the shortening of product development periods, reduction of prototyping costs, and acquisition of detailed data that is difficult to measure through experiments. In this article, we will introduce application examples that can be useful for product development using Simerics' CAE/CFD software. One commonly used component in hydraulic machinery, such as automotive oil pumps, is the internal gear. Research and development is continuously conducted to enhance the efficiency of transporting hydraulic oil. However, this requires significant time and costs for prototyping and testing the oil pump. Additionally, even when performing CFD simulations, generating the computational mesh for the gear teeth can be a cumbersome task. With Simerics' CFD, high-performance template meshes are provided, and the deformation of the computational mesh that occurs during calculations is fully automated, allowing anyone to easily and quickly generate meshes. This is expected to significantly reduce both man-hours and costs! There are many more reasons to use Simerics' CFD software. You can find more details at the link below or feel free to contact us anytime!

Simulation of a check valve using Simerics MP+.

Introducing a simulation of a check valve (non-return valve) as an example of fluid analysis.

CFD provides detailed data that is difficult to obtain through experiments, helping to shorten product development periods and reduce prototyping costs. In this article, we will introduce application examples that can assist in product development using Simerics' CAE/CFD software. Check valves (non-return valves) play an important role in preventing water hammer and regulating flow direction. Research and development are ongoing daily to enhance the durability of piping. However, this requires significant time and cost for prototyping and testing the valves. Even when performing CFD simulations, setting up the mesh deformation associated with the opening and closing of flow paths can be quite cumbersome. With Simerics' CFD, high-performance template meshes are provided, and the movement and deformation of the computational mesh that occurs during calculations are fully automated, allowing anyone to easily and quickly generate meshes. This is expected to lead to significant reductions in labor and costs! There are many more reasons to use Simerics' CFD software. Instead of software experts, physics experts will handle the initial meeting and provide analysis results tailored to the customer's needs.

Our company offers contracted analysis (outsourced analysis) and consulting as one of the pillars of our business. Based on the extensive know-how cultivated through contracted analysis in CAE, we do not simply propose basic analyses using software; instead, our team of physics experts is available to consult on contracted analysis (outsourced analysis) services.

Truck berth vehicle detection

It's not too late to address the "2024 Problem." Why not immediately reduce drivers' waiting times?

  • NEW
  • PRODUCT

Are you making progress on measures for the "2024 Problem"? The management of drivers' working hours is becoming stricter, and in the logistics field, reducing "waiting time for loading" has become an urgent issue. To address this challenge, our company, Hotron, proposes the "Vehicle Detection Ultrasonic Sensor 'HM-UX2'," which instantly grasps the availability of loading bays. The 'HM-UX2' contributes to the resolution of waiting times by accurately understanding the availability status, reducing unnecessary waiting and queuing, and shortening waiting times, thereby alleviating the burden on drivers! By replacing the "eyes" of your loading bay management with this high-precision sensor, why not start taking measures against the "2024 Problem"? Take a look at the product features: "Can it accurately detect availability?" "Can we really use it in our company?" "I just want to know the cost, even if it's an estimate." If you have any questions or requests, please feel free to consult us first.
