Introduction to Micro FT-IR

アイテス アイテス
At Aites Co., Ltd., we have newly introduced "Microscopic FT-IR" this fiscal year. The "Microscopic FT-IR," which combines FT-IR and optical microscopy, allows for the measurement of tiny substances on the order of several tens of micrometers, which are difficult to measure with conventional FT-IR, using an aperture (field stop). There are three main measurement methods for Microscopic FT-IR: "transmission method," "reflection method," and "ATR method." While the transmission method is the basic measurement method in Microscopic FT-IR measurements, the reflection method or ATR method may be more suitable depending on the shape of the sample and the feasibility of sampling.

Micro FT-IR

This year, we are introducing new additions! We will introduce the features of the three basic measurement methods.

In "Microscopic FT-IR," there are three main measurement methods: "transmission method," "reflection method," and "ATR method." In "Microscopic FT-IR," which combines FT-IR with an optical microscope, it is possible to measure small substances of about tens of micrometers that are difficult to measure with conventional FT-IR, using an aperture (field stop). While the transmission method is the basic measurement method in microscopic FT-IR, the reflection method or ATR method may be more suitable depending on the shape of the sample and the feasibility of sampling. 【Characteristics of Measurement Methods】 ■ Transmission Method - Infrared light is irradiated onto the sample, and the transmitted light is measured. - Information is obtained from the thickness of the material that the infrared light has passed through. ■ Reflection Method - Infrared light is irradiated onto the sample, and the reflected light is measured. - Information about the surface of the sample is obtained. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Liquid foreign substance sampling technique for FT-IR analysis

Sampling using capillaries through surface tension! FT-IR analysis has become possible.

Traditionally, sampling of liquid foreign substances has been considered very difficult. In the liquid foreign substance sampling technique for FT-IR analysis, sampling is performed using a capillary and surface tension, allowing for FT-IR analysis. 【Sampling Procedure】 ■ Liquid foreign substances on the substrate ■ Sampling with a capillary ■ Transferring the liquid onto a Si wafer for FT-IR analysis ■ Sampling in progress with the capillary ■ Transferring onto the Si wafer *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Data] FT-IR Analysis of Transparent Resin

Introducing the results of IR analysis on peripheral materials for LCD displays and raw materials (pellets) such as fibers!

PMMA (acrylic), PET (polyethylene terephthalate), and PC (polycarbonate) are utilized in many applications, taking advantage of their characteristic transparency. They are essential materials for industrial products such as peripheral components of liquid crystal displays, protective films for mobile device screens, headlight covers, optical fibers, and textiles. This document presents the results of IR analysis of these raw materials (pellets). [Contents] ■ Analysis samples: Characteristics of ester/carbonate-based polymers ■ IR spectra (ATR method) ■ Spectral comparison (overlay) ■ Other related analysis services *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Data] IR analysis of vinyl polymer (resin material)

Introducing the results of IR analysis conducted on polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and others!

There are many types of vinyl polymers, and they exhibit various properties depending on the molecular structure of their side chains. Additionally, differences in crystallinity arise from the bonding configuration of these side chains (stereoisomers). In this document, we present the results of IR analysis of representative vinyl polymers, including polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Aites conducts advanced data analysis based on chemical theory, ensuring that even subtle differences are not overlooked. Please feel free to consult us at any time. [Contents] ■ Analysis Sample: Vinyl Polymers ■ IR Spectrum (ATR Method) ■ IR Spectrum Comparison (Overlay) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

FT-IR analysis of ABS resin

Identification of substances through various approaches such as insights, spectral analysis capabilities, and other analytical methods.

There are many types of thermoplastic resins, among which ABS is widely used in various products due to its unique molecular structure. As an engineering plastic, ABS resin is utilized in a wide range of fields, including electronic products, automobiles, home appliances, and IT-related products. We examined the characteristic IR spectrum of ABS resin using FT-IR analysis. Comparison of Infrared Spectroscopy and Raman Spectroscopy

By conducting two analyses, it is possible to obtain more detailed and accurate results!

This document introduces the characteristics of each spectroscopy method and the spectra obtained when comparing infrared spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy. Both infrared spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy are vibrational spectroscopies that investigate the vibrational energy of molecules, but the shapes of the spectra obtained from each method differ even when measuring the same substance. Infrared spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy are complementary, and by conducting both analyses, information that cannot be obtained from either method alone can be acquired in a more detailed and accurate manner. For more details, please refer to the catalog provided. 【Characteristics of Infrared Spectroscopy】 ■ Infrared absorption occurs when the dipole moment changes with vibration (infrared active). ■ Vibrations that cause a distortion in electron distribution (breaking molecular symmetry) have high infrared activity. * For more information, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Driftwood Catching Tool "RB Catcher"

Addition of the "RB Catcher," a log capture device, installed on impermeable sediment control dams.

  • NEW
  • PRODUCT

We have newly added the "RB Catcher," a log capture device installed on impermeable sediment control dams in flow sections, to our product lineup and have started sales. The RB Catcher is directly attached to the upstream part of the impermeable sediment control dam to enhance log capture functionality. Unlike the conventional straight arrangement, it features a structural layout that creates gaps between units, ensuring that water flow is maintained without causing blockages after capturing logs. This allows for the reliable capture of subsequent logs without overflow, preventing damage downstream. By adding this new log capture device to our lineup, we will flexibly respond to various needs in the field.
