Introducing a case of a tourist farm in Nankoku City, Kochi Prefecture, which attracts 80,000 to 100,000 visitors annually!

We would like to introduce a case study regarding the introduction of a wood biomass boiler at Nishijima Gardening Complex Co., Ltd. As a hybrid system combining an existing heavy oil boiler and wood biomass energy, a wood chip boiler has been installed for heating greenhouses over 1.2 hectares of a total of 4 hectares, using hot water to cultivate melons and other crops. The boiler room and silo have been appropriately installed in the empty space between the greenhouses, and the processing of combustion ash has been automated to simplify operations. We are utilizing wood chips made from offcuts and backboards generated during the processing of thinned wood from Tsushima as boiler fuel for the hot spring facility. We would like to introduce a case study regarding the introduction of a wood biomass boiler at Shoji Lumber Mill, Kamabuchi Factory. By converting the large amount of cedar bark (tree bark) generated in-house into boiler fuel for energy and drying wood, we are utilizing the forest as a "circular resource" and working towards CO2 reduction and effective waste utilization. This has become a model case for using bark as fuel, and biomass boilers have been installed at three facilities: Kanayama Factory, Kamabuchi Factory, and Mamurogawa Factory. Before the introduction, an oil boiler was used as the heat source, but with the installation of the biomass boiler, fossil fuel consumption has been reduced, leading to a decrease in CO2 emissions from fossil fuels.
