Green buildings refer to structures that consider the environment and resources from site selection to design, construction, operation, renovation, and demolition. They are recognized globally for providing significant benefits to owners, such as reductions in utility costs, increased productivity, and enhanced asset value. The voluntary certification system overseen by the U.S. Green Building Council includes LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), with evaluation points based on the following seven criteria: [1] Sustainability of the building (site) and accessibility [2] Water efficiency and conservation [3] Energy savings and use of renewable energy [4] Material reuse and recycling rates [5] Indoor environmental comfort [6] Innovation and special credits in the design process [7] Regional priority credits.

The large-scale "sand filtration" systems used until now have incurred enormous maintenance costs, and neglecting maintenance leads to a "significant decrease" in filtration capacity. Additionally, frequent backwashing required a vast amount of water. After switching from "organic phosphorus-based water treatment agents" to "CALFA BAS" and from the sand filtration system to "CALFA S.E.P.," turbidity decreased by "87%!!" and total hardness by "60%!!" in just two weeks! (24-hour operation) The facility's equipment management supervisor had something to say about this: "What on earth were all the enormous costs we incurred until now for? I want to gradually switch to this."
