Solve cooling tower troubles (adhesion of unwanted substances and reduced heat exchange)! Achieve significant savings in water and energy! [Patent obtained]
The CALFA SEP "Water Separator" gradually concentrates impurities into the lower layer by continuously and forcibly generating unique fluid cavitation with a special ring contained within the cooling water. For the total circulating water volume of the cooling tower, continuous circulation is performed with CALFA SEP compatible models (single or multiple units), separating and concentrating impurities (SS) in the cooling water with a specific gravity of 1.0 or higher and up to 7 microns. By regularly draining this concentrated material, it serves as a separation-type side filter that continuously purifies the cooling water.

basic information
By using our "environmentally friendly water treatment agent CALFA BAS," impurities in the water can be efficiently coagulated and concentrated, allowing for the removal of only the "dirty water" with high hardness and turbidity that negatively impacts equipment. Additionally, there is no need for frequent "backwashing" like with sand filters, resulting in significant "water-saving effects." Furthermore, the equipment uses only the minimum necessary supply water, ensuring that only clean water is used for "circulation and heat exchange." With the cleaning action, scale prevention, and rust prevention effects of CALFA BAS within the equipment and piping, a healthy system can be maintained at all times, producing optimal heat exchange rates. As a result, substantial "energy-saving effects" are achieved.

Applications/Examples of results
Comparison of sand filtration: Five "no" advantages 1. Frequent "backwashing" is required --> Water costs increase significantly --> S.E.P. does not require "backwashing" 2. Filter media must be replaced regularly --> Running costs increase --> S.E.P. does not require "media replacement" 3. Neglecting media replacement leads to --> Decreased "filtration capacity" --> Sand turns to stone and backwashing becomes impossible --> S.E.P. has no "decrease in filtration capacity" 4. Trying to increase filtration capacity requires --> Large space --> S.E.P. does not require large space for installation 5. Sand filters cause pressure loss, so they cannot be used for full stream --> S.E.P. does not depend on "full side"

Calfa Chemical Co., Ltd. has developed an environmentally friendly cooling tower water treatment agent called "CALFA BAS" (Calfa Bus), which is "phosphorus-free" and "nitrogen-free"! Using amorphous solid water treatment technology recognized in the environmentally advanced EU, it solves cooling tower issues (such as silica and calcium scale buildup, slime adhesion, and reduced heat exchange) without the need for equipment or machinery! CALFA BAS contains no "phosphorus" or "nitrogen" at all. Therefore, there is no need for "concentration measurement devices or systems" to measure residual amounts of "phosphorus" or "nitrogen." Additionally, actions such as diluting with water to meet "total water quality regulations" are unnecessary in themselves. [ISO 14001 compliant] Installation is simply placing it at the bottom of the cooling tower. That's all. This significantly achieves savings in water and energy! Some users in factories and large hotels have realized savings of several million yen in electricity costs over six months. By simply reducing power consumption (kWh) by 30%, the carbon dioxide emissions from power suppliers are also reduced by 30%, contributing to the mitigation of global warming, making the optimization of thermal efficiency essential.
