The Yatsushiro Buntan, a specialty product of Yatsushiro City in Kumamoto Prefecture, is a citrus fruit available only from mid-November to March during its harvest season. The aroma contained in the peel is so rich that it has garnered attention as an aroma oil, while the flesh has a balance of sweetness and acidity, and the pith contains bitterness. Additionally, it includes citric acid, which is effective for fatigue recovery, vitamin C with antioxidant properties, naringin that works in conjunction with vitamin C to help thin the blood, and pectin that aids digestion. The aroma, sweetness, acidity, bitterness, and nutrients of this Buntan have been made into a paste without any waste. By turning it into a paste, it allows enjoyment of the Buntan outside of its harvest season, broadening the ways to enjoy it. You can mix it with hot water, carbonated water, or shochu, use it as a fruit sauce on yogurt or ice cream, or incorporate it into baking, dressings, or stews for a delicious experience. We collaborate with JA Yatsushiro, Buntan farmers, and our own Buntan farm to secure raw materials and produce products. We also undertake processing operations on a contract basis.
