Free membership registrationOur company will hold a seminar on "Rock Weathering Acceleration Technology for the Negative Emission Market." There are only a quarter of a century left until the target year of 2050 for achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. It is extremely difficult to offset CO2 emissions from hard-to-decarbonize sectors solely through the large-scale introduction of renewable energy; thus, Negative Emission Technologies (NETs) are essential. One of the technologies for directly removing CO2 that has been released into the atmosphere is weathering acceleration (ERW), which is expected to be implemented in Japan due to its lower water and land use compared to other technologies, as well as the widespread distribution of natural rocks containing Ca/Mg within the country. This seminar will elaborate on the technological trends both domestically and internationally, focusing on the A-ERW project being implemented as part of the Moonshot Goal 4, as well as the methodologies for measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) that are essential for clear carbon accounting and crediting. [Seminar Details] ■ Date and Time: October 8 (Tuesday) 13:30 - 15:30 (Doors open at 13:00) ■ Speaker Takaou Nakagaki, Professor, Department of Comprehensive Mechanical Engineering, School of Creative Science and Engineering, Waseda University *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
