Free membership registrationIn the Kyushu region, a broadcasting system for local communities using specific low-power radio and simple radio has been spreading since over a decade ago (a wireless version of wired broadcasting). Due to the rapid spread, the number of channels has become limited, necessitating new frequency bands. Based on the results of the "Study Group on Information and Communication Systems for Local Communities," hosted by the Kyushu Regional Communications Bureau from November 2007 to March 2008, the "Frequency Utilization Plan" was revised in July 2008, reallocating some frequencies from underutilized regional promotion radio for use in municipal and community broadcasting, which is referred to as "Community Radio." The official notification was issued in December 2008, and licenses have been granted sequentially since then. [Definition] It is defined as "a radio station established by municipalities, community associations, etc., to smoothly carry out joint activities that contribute to the maintenance and formation of a good local community, such as communication among residents within the area, environmental improvement, and maintenance of meeting facilities." Therefore, licenses are granted only to municipalities and community associations, etc. *Community associations, etc. = organizations that are closely related to municipalities and are recognized for supporting the activities of the respective organization.

Free membership registrationOutdoor broadcasting is commonly used for transmitting crime prevention information and local information from municipalities, as well as for reporting emergencies. However, there are challenges such as being drowned out by sounds like heavy rain or overlapping broadcasts that make it difficult to hear. If the broadcast content pertains to local events, missing it may not be critical, but in the case of emergencies such as disasters or crimes, it can be a matter of life and death. What is needed for community disaster prevention is the accurate and prompt communication of information and instructions to local residents. At Shibaura Electronic Industries, we propose a system that delivers community broadcasts directly to each household to address the challenges mentioned above and reduce the number of cases where people are delayed in evacuating during a disaster. [Our Products] - Community Wireless Broadcasting - Household Community Receivers - Disaster Alert System "Kikoeru-kun" *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationIn regional disaster prevention, efforts at each local level are becoming increasingly important. There is a term called the "three assists" in disaster response, which refers to self-assistance (overcoming challenges on your own), mutual assistance (overcoming challenges as a community), and public assistance (overcoming challenges with the help of the government). When a large-scale disaster occurs, the government also takes action, but it is a fact that there are physical limitations to the government's response, and we cannot rely solely on public assistance. Therefore, mutual assistance is said to be crucial. Mutual assistance is the idea of neighbors helping each other to overcome disasters, such as within neighborhood associations or elementary school districts, and it can cover areas that cannot be addressed by self-assistance or public assistance. In this way, effective disaster measures require disaster response that is suited to local characteristics, and a cooperative attitude within the community becomes essential.

Free membership registrationHazard maps are very useful for disaster prevention tailored to each region. A hazard map is a representation that predicts the areas affected by natural disasters in a specific region and displays them on a map. If you want to actually see the hazard map for your own area, the hazard map portal site published by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is convenient. From here, you can view hazard maps for various regions. Since hazard maps are extremely effective for understanding disaster information specific to each area, it is definitely worth taking a look at the hazard map for the area where you live.

Free membership registrationPrefectures and municipalities create their respective regional disaster prevention plans based on the Disaster Countermeasures Basic Act. These regional disaster prevention plans outline disaster measures that take into account the characteristics of each area. For example, local governments in mountainous regions provide detailed responses in the event of heavy rain or landslides. In this way, populations differ by region, as do age demographics and types of buildings. Since the terrain and climate also vary, even if the "same earthquake" occurs, the approach to disaster measures will differ.

Free membership registrationShibaura Electronic Industry's "Community Wireless Broadcasting System" allows for the announcement of local information such as community news and radio reception, and can provide disaster prevention information from the government during emergencies. In daily use, each community association can utilize it for announcements, and broadcasts can be made to individual household receivers via the disaster prevention administrative wireless system from the government. **Features of Shibaura Electronic Industry's System** - Can be established at the municipal/community association level. - Individual receivers can be introduced even if a disaster prevention administrative wireless system is already in place. - Supports various types of wireless communication, including community wireless and digital simple wireless. - Prioritizes reception of administrative broadcasts. Even during radio or community association broadcasts, it will replay after the administrative broadcast ends. - If the signal is interrupted during a broadcast, it will continue as soon as the signal is restored (the receiver can be turned on mid-broadcast and will receive if it meets the selection criteria). - During controlled (emergency) broadcasts, the receiver can be forcibly powered on, and the volume can be fixed (configurable). - Can record and replay community association broadcasts and administrative broadcasts separately. - The receiver itself can distinguish settings (such as whether one is a member of the community association). - FM radio reception is standard equipment (wide FM compatible). *Please note that specifications may vary depending on the size of the municipality or community association, so feel free to contact us for more information.*
