The strength is high. The grain is mostly straight, but the texture is coarse. The workability is good. The decay resistance is moderate, but the water resistance is excellent. It is durable underwater (previously used for the foundations of large buildings). Uses: Shelves, interior materials, furniture materials, building materials, stair materials, handrails, custom materials (friction parts of door frames and thresholds, floor posts), frame materials. Caution: Due to the high resin content, oil pockets may be present, and resin can stain the surface. It is prone to discoloration due to blue stain fungi.
