Mitanihan Forestry announces a housing brand made with natural materials and solid natural wood.

[News] Achieving low prices while using high-quality natural materials.

A brand with the concept of "proposing a soft lifestyle" Watahan Forestry Co., Ltd. will start selling the housing brand 'cotton1/2', developed in collaboration with its group company Science Home, on January 10, 2023. This brand features houses built using traditional Japanese wooden construction techniques, emphasizing natural materials by using solid wood for all structural materials and incorporating natural materials such as paulownia flooring and diatomaceous earth wallpaper in the interior. The design includes "climbing beams" that rise along the roof, creating large open spaces by combining columns and beams. This provides a visual sense of security, as if the entire building is being supported. High quality and low price coexist The 'cotton1/2' brand has made it possible to offer homes using high-quality natural materials at low prices by panelizing floors, walls, and ceilings, and by maintaining a consistent production process from sourcing to processing wood. By enhancing cost performance, the brand addresses the needs of customers who are unable to proceed with new home construction due to rising housing material costs. It aims to re-establish wooden houses, which have low environmental impact and high durability, as the standard for housing in Japan.

Haseko and SpiderPlus jointly developed a support tool for rebar construction management.

[News] Aiming to standardize the accuracy of visual inspections and improve the efficiency of dimensional calculations in rebar joint construction.

◆After trial operation at an actual condominium construction site, full-scale operation begins On December 21, 2022, Haseko Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Haseko) and SpiderPlus Inc. (hereinafter referred to as SpiderPlus) announced the joint development of a quality management support tool for rebar joint construction. The developed functions have undergone trial operation at an actual condominium construction site and full-scale operation has commenced. ◆Exterior inspection completed just by holding up an iPhone The jointly developed tools are two types of quality management support functions for rebar joint construction: the "Guideline Function" and the "Calculation Function," which have been added as new features to SpiderPlus's architectural drawing and site management app "SPIDERPLUS," introduced by Haseko since 2018. In the exterior inspection required after the completion of rebar joint construction, measurements were previously taken using an SY gauge on the welded joint parts. However, by using the "Guideline Function," the inspection can be completed simply by holding up an iPhone, eliminating errors by the measurer and standardizing the process. Additionally, the "Calculation Function" allows for immediate display of calculation results such as anchorage length, provided that information such as rebar type and diameter is pre-entered, contributing to improved operational efficiency.

JGC Global applies 3D-printed foundation formwork.

[News] Construction period shortened by half with basic formwork using 3D printers!

◆Application at the construction site of a biomass dedicated power generation facility in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture On December 14, 2022, JGC Global Corporation (hereinafter referred to as JGC Global) announced the application of a foundation formwork created using a 3D printer at the site of the biomass dedicated power generation facility in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, which was contracted for construction by JGC Corporation. ◆Formwork construction completed in half the time JGC Global installed a gantry-type concrete construction 3D printer manufactured by COBOD of Denmark at the site. Using materials commonly available at general construction sites, such as cement and aggregates, they demonstrated the outdoor creation of foundation formwork made of mortar and concrete mixed on-site. In this demonstration, conventional methods were also employed simultaneously. While the conventional method took 16 days, including backfilling work, the use of the 3D printer eliminated the need for on-site formwork assembly and demolding, allowing for the completion of formwork construction in a target of just 8 days, half the time. JGC Global aims to continue introducing on-site 3D printers in collaboration with domestic and international companies. *You can download our catalog of formwork-related products from the link below.
