Nichitoku Construction Co., Ltd. started its business in the 1940s, focusing on geological surveys and foundation treatment for dams. Since then, the company's strong foundation in geology and expertise in foundation work have been passed down through generations, continuing to be a core aspect of our current operations, which primarily focus on environmental and disaster prevention projects, maintenance and repair, and urban regeneration. Currently, the construction industry environment appears to be improving due to recovery projects from the Great East Japan Earthquake and government initiatives for national resilience. However, we believe that in the medium to long term, the challenges may increase. Amidst this, Nichitoku Construction has completed its medium-term management plan Step I, which aimed at the creation of a new Nichitoku Construction, and Step II, which focused on building a stable foundation. We are now working on medium-term management plan Step III, themed "Challenge for Growth," which aims to establish a business strategy and organization that ensures efficient profit generation while anticipating changes in the future construction market.
