On November 25, 2023, a complex facility combining a library, community exchange center, and child-rearing exchange center opened in Ayabe City, Kyoto Prefecture. Nitto Seiko Co., a local company, donated a train-shaped picture book storage shelf to the Ayabe City Library, which has been newly renovated and reopened within Ayaterrace. Tokihasangyo assisted in the design, planning, and manufacturing of this train-shaped picture book storage shelf.

This time, the product we supported in development and manufacturing is the cat tower displayed at the "Tesera Kanazawa Collection" held in an interior showroom. The Tesera brand adopts a unique modular system structure to adapt to changes in work styles and company growth. The "cat tower," for which we supported product development, can also be said to be a product line based on changes in family and lifestyle. ■ Functionality Provided by "Unique Technology Fanu" Some of the wooden boards of the cat tower use PU flow analysis injection molding technology, Fanu. By utilizing wooden panels shaped with PU flow analysis injection molding technology and original fastening parts made with a 3D printer, we prevent the wooden boards from shifting or falling due to the cat's movement. Additionally, by using PU flow analysis injection molding technology, we prevent scratches when removing panels and damage when panels are dropped. The board that forms the back of the furniture uses a lightweight panel created with Tokihas' unique manufacturing technology. By using lightweight panels over a wide area of 1945mm in width and 1500mm in height, we achieved an overall reduction in the weight of the furniture.

Tokiwa Sangyo supports the design and manufacturing of new product development for TATAMI Co., Ltd., which specializes in space design and planning as part of its ODM services. This time, we assisted in the development of three new products: a stacking table, a trapezoidal desk, and a round personal table, all designed to enable various space utilizations such as workplaces, gathering spaces, and training/seminar areas for employees. Here, we introduce one of them: a stacking table that takes into consideration "ease of use for women" in both mobility and storage.

Tokiwa Industries designed and manufactured the tables for the shared space and dining hall of the Tsushima HUB student dormitory, which opened in February 2022. Points that addressed the customer's challenges as furniture for the shared space: <Durability and Impact Resistance> In the student dormitory, which is used by many students, durability and impact resistance of the furniture were required. Tokiwa Industries, which has accumulated technology and know-how in office furniture manufacturing, addressed this challenge with the F-BOX service. By using design standards based on domestic regulations and Tokiwa Industries' experience and information, we ensured functionality while manufacturing furniture of high quality. The new version of the whiteboard, "ideaboard magnet," was created through collaboration with Chuo Metal Industry Co., Ltd. It is designed to draw out more ideas for fostering creativity. Utilizing our integrated urethane molding technology, we developed a whiteboard with a large writing area of 1800×900mm, yet weighing only 5.2kg, making it easy for anyone to carry. To achieve the right size, lightness, and thinness, we held numerous meetings, created prototypes, and explored various material combinations, resulting in this product. It won the Good Design Award in 2021 and is now used in many creative settings.
