In response to the growing global interest in "decarbonization" and "sustainability," "perovskite solar cells" have recently attracted attention as solar panels to be installed in buildings such as offices. This document explains the basic knowledge of perovskite solar cells, the background of their increasing attention, the differences from conventional silicon solar cells, the latest development trends, and efforts toward practical application. AGC is working on the development of a new "Sunjoule" that uses perovskite solar cells, in addition to its existing power-generating glass "Sunjoule" that utilizes silicon solar cells.
