Since the operating environment is a clean room, it was not possible to use lubricating oil on the chain, and operating without lubrication became ideal, leading to the consideration of surface treatment. As a result of the "New Kanak Treatment," after 2 months of use, wear increased by 40mm (without treatment) to only 2mm, resulting in reduced wear on the shaft portion. This made it possible to operate without lubrication, which improved the environment by suppressing dust dispersion and increased productivity by reducing maintenance frequency. 【Conventional Concerns】 ■ I want to suppress chain wear. ■ I want to suppress chain elongation. ■ I want to minimize the use of lubricating oil. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationIn companies that manufacture automotive parts, resin pellets are sent to numerous molding machines to mold plastic products. When supplying the molding machines through piping from the tank, air is used to transport the pellets over long distances, crawling along the ceiling, which puts stress on the curves along the way, leading to holes forming in about a month. As a solution, "New Kanak treatment" was applied to the piping. The wear from the pellets was reduced, and the piping did not develop holes even after two years of use. 【Case Summary】 ■ Conventional Issues - Holes in piping due to wear ■ Treatment Effects (due to increased surface hardness) - Reduction in wear *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationDue to the use of glass fibers in the hopper chute materials used in the resin raw material manufacturing factory, we were struggling with wear and contamination. We implemented "New Kanack Treatment" to see if we could suppress wear and contamination by improving surface hardness through surface treatment. As a result, we were able to use it for four years without any issues, and the reduction in replacements and maintenance led to increased productivity. 【Case Summary】 ■ Conventional Issues - The hopper chute wore out quickly, requiring regular inspections and replacements. ■ Treatment Effects (due to improved surface hardness) - Reduction in wear *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationTo improve the lifespan of the core punch, we reviewed the selection of steel types. Previously, we used SKH51 material with CVD-TiC treatment, but the cause of the lifespan issue was the tip of the punch cracking in a ring shape, so we changed the material to carbide. By applying PVD (TiCN4μ) to the new Kanack treatment, we successfully achieved over 16 times the lifespan improvement compared to before. 【Case Summary】 ■ Previous Issues - The tip of the punch cracks in a ring shape - Peeling of the PVD coating ■ Treatment Effects (due to increased surface hardness) - Reduced wear - Suppression of chipping and peeling of PVD due to new Kanack treatment (underlying treatment) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationIn the resin injection molding factory, this is a counterpart material with 40% glass added. I had wanted to apply surface treatment for some time, but due to the strict dimensional tolerance of 5µm, it was not possible to perform surface treatment. This time, the new Kanak treatment was implemented because the dimensional change is minimal. The lifespan of the mold has doubled, and the polishing process time has been shortened. 【Conventional Issues】 ■ Dimensional changes ■ Wear ■ Time for the polishing process *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case where "Kanack OX treatment" was applied to a pin. Due to the pin's withdrawal angle of 0.05 degrees, galling occurred at the aluminum weld at a distance of 150mm from the pin tip, leading to a low lifespan. As a result, we decided to test Kanack OX treatment, conventional nitriding treatment, CVD (three-layer), and PVD (CrN) surface treatments. As a result, production became possible up to 12,000 shots, and the welding and galling at the tip were reduced, leading to improved productivity. [Case Overview] ■ Conventional Issues - Aluminum welding - Occurrence of galling ■ Treatment Effects (due to improved surface hardness) - Suppression of welding - Suppression of galling *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationTraditionally, molds were used without treatment, resulting in a short lifespan of 7,000 shots due to galling and melting. Although surface treatment had not been used until now, it was implemented due to negative impacts on product quality and costs. As a result of the "Kanack OX treatment," the lifespan improved to 38,000 shots, which is 5.4 times longer than untreated molds. [Case Overview] ■ Traditional Issues - Melting - Galling ■ Treatment Effects (due to improved surface hardness) - Suppression of melting - Suppression of galling *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationTraditionally, gas soft nitriding was used, resulting in defects due to cracks after 10,000 shots, leading to disposal. The causes were thought to be the occurrence of heat checks due to thermal fatigue and metal fatigue caused by warping during forging. After the new Kanack treatment, cracks similarly occurred after 16,000 shots, leading to defects and disposal, but heat checks were suppressed. The updated type avoids operations until cracks occur in the mold's lifespan and enables longer life by repeating reprocessing (removal of residual stress and addition of compressive stress) after 8,000 shots. 【Traditional Issues】 ■ Occurrence of cracks ■ Occurrence of heat checks ■ Metal fatigue *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationThe "Kanak treatment" is our unique gas nitriding process developed in 1985 as a hardening treatment for non-magnetic stainless steel, which was considered difficult at the time. It is a diffusion treatment primarily based on CrN and MoN, significantly improving issues associated with conventional nitriding, such as reduced toughness, dimensional changes, and surface roughness, thereby enabling a wide range of applications. We will expand our treatment lineup to meet the needs of many customers based on this treatment. 【Features】 ■ Low reduction in toughness, with a diffusion layer as the main hardened layer ■ Uniform effects can be obtained even on complex shapes and deep holes ■ Minimal change in surface roughness ■ Little warping, expansion, or dimensional changes ■ Reproducibility of treatment effects through repeated processing *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationNew treatment "EVOLK" for low Cr steel resin molds The hardness of P20 and P21 series materials is around 1000 HV. The low roughness, weldability, and minimal dimensional changes are similar to conventional materials, and due to the low-temperature treatment, dimensional changes are also extremely small. Additionally, for SKD11 materials, the diffusion layer depth is greater than before, making "EVOLK" effective for press molds as well.

Free membership registration"AKC Treatment" is a heat check/crack resistance treatment developed for aluminum die casting and similar applications. Based on the New Kanak treatment, we have identified conditions that significantly suppress cracking and optimized the treatment. While maintaining the advantages of the New Kanak treatment, such as weldability and electrical discharge machinability, the heat check/crack resistance has been enhanced. 【Features】 ■ Excellent heat check resistance ■ Welding operations can be performed without issues ■ Repeat treatments can be performed without compromising toughness ■ Composite treatments with other processes are possible *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationThe new Kanak processing is a composite treatment that combines Kanak processing and shot peening, adding high residual compressive stress to the surface. The surface achieves higher hardness due to the peening effect compared to Kanak processing. 【Features】 ■ Excellent resistance to heat cracking (checking) ■ Welding operations can be performed without issues ■ Repeated processing is possible without compromising toughness ■ Composite processing with other treatments is possible *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
