"Borklay Matt" is a waterproofing material used in civil engineering applications, including landfill sites, oil tank disaster prevention, and artificial ponds. It is a "reinforced" GCL made by sandwiching granular Na-type bentonite between woven and non-woven fabrics, fixed together by needle punching. We would like to introduce a case where the gas-permeable and waterproof capping sheet method "ADK Sheet" was implemented. In this project, it was necessary to excavate the waste from the existing final disposal site, set up a temporary sorting yard, and properly sort the waste for burial at a new final disposal site. After performing the burial work at the new final disposal site with appropriate waterproofing measures, the final cover was applied to complete the project. We would like to introduce a case study of a pond embankment renovation where bentonite sheets were installed as a waterproof sheet. In this project, a comparison of waterproof sheet methods was conducted, and the bentonite sheet "Volclay Mat," which can exhibit waterproofing functionality semi-permanently, was adopted.
