"Public Drain" is a new drainage material that maintains high drainage capacity, replacing sand and gravel. It can be used in various applications, including internal drainage of embankments and backfill drainage for general structures. Both the filter and core material are highly strong and flexible, allowing them to adapt to ground changes, eliminating concerns about breakage or cutting. No special techniques or joints are required, and its lightweight nature increases construction speed. "Possible" is a non-woven fabric sheet made of polyester long fibers (spunbond) for civil engineering applications. This sheet possesses excellent mechanical strength, weather resistance, and chemical resistance, while also meeting the conditions of geotextiles such as permeability and filtration performance. Due to the spunbond manufacturing method, it is produced in a continuous layered structure of long fibers, resulting in superior tensile strength and other properties. There are two types of Possible: the AK type, which is highly flexible, has a large elongation, and a high friction coefficient, and the AK-N type, which is designed for interlocking blocks. We would like to introduce a case study on the construction method for "waterproof sheet for agricultural pond disaster recovery." In this case, a pond used for agricultural purposes was protected by a waterproof sheet on its surface. Over time, voids developed in the ground behind the waterproof sheet, causing the sheet to float. We adopted a design that involved installing a permeable crushed stone layer behind the waterproof sheet and discharging the groundwater behind the sheet through a pipe at the bottom of the pond. We would like to introduce a case where a high-pressure horizontal drainage material was proposed as an alternative method to the sand mat used in PBD construction. In this project, it was necessary to implement a fill height of approximately 12 meters on soft ground, and consolidation settlement of the soft ground was anticipated. Therefore, we proposed the high-pressure horizontal drainage material "Public Drain" as an alternative to the sand mat.
